Another successful day visiting Denbies Winery. 38 members and friends enjoyed a full afternoon of activities starting with the very popular Safari train giving a tour of the estate. Making its way through the extensive vineyards and up a very steep hill just slightly lower than Box Hill next door. Several stops were made to allow us to take in the extensive views of the Surrey Downs and listen to a very informative talk about the different grape varieties grown on the estate. We were all served a very welcomed glass of Denbies's sparkling rose wine as we made our return to Denbies welcome centre. Second part of the visit was to a cinema introduction of the history of how Denbies has become one of the largest producers of English wine. Followed by a visit to their cellars for wine tasting. Suitability relaxed we retired to their amazing Outlook Gallery restaurant with 360 degree views of the Surrey Downs for a three course lunch.
