14 - 17 October Autumn Drive to Berkshire - long weekend

Our base will be at Donnington Grove Manor House and Estate, Grove Rd, Newbury RG14 2LA

Donnington Grove, a three star country-house hotel near Newbury, is situated in 500 acres of beautiful grounds that include an 18 hole championship golf course. It is a fascinating destination with more than a whiff of English decadence. Built in "Strawberry Hill Gothic" style in the 18th century, this 250 year old, charming building has a unique heritage. Bygone days have seen illustrious and eccentric inhabitants such as British Historian James Petit Andrews, Georgian trend setter Beau Brummell and 1920's femme fatale Daisy Fellowes.  On the estate are the ruins of Donnington Castle, totally destroyed by Cromwellian troops during the English Civil War.

We have reserved 10 executive double rooms and 2 single rooms for the long weekend.  The cost for an executive double room with dinner, bed and breakfast is £150.00 per night or £125.00 for a single occupancy with dinner, bed and breakfast per night.  The hotel has full disability access if required. There are many local sights to visit in the area that can be booked direct for your weekend.  This event is organised by Art Ramirez.

Highclere Castle is offering a very special exclusive tour at £130.00 per person. Enjoy a guided Tour of the Castle and the Egyptian Exhibition, a delicious selection of refreshments prepared by Highclere’s chefs as well as a signed copy of a fascinating book by Lady Carnarvon. Recommended to book early as it is very popular.  https://highclerecastleshop.co.uk/categories/real-lives-and-tours
